To be or not to be... Ugli

It looks Ugli. It cannot decide between being yellow or green or sweet or sour. But it was a great experience.
Upon first observance, it looks ugly. But when you begin to peel it's flesh, it releases a wonderful aroma. If you do not purchase the fruit to eat, you should buy it to experience the unpeeled smell!

The fruit is soft and much larger than an orange. Even the slices feel and look a bit different. This thing is not seedless, so you have to pop all the seeds out before eating them.

This fruit pairs well with breakfast. The smell is refreshing, but the taste, will wake you up. It makes me want to throw up and yet eat more. I think it was, an overreaction of the taste buds. They all wanted to say that this thing was super sweet and sour at the same time. WOW, what an experience! Go out today and get your Ugli fruit before it goes out of season!

I want to try one! FYI-if it's cold where you are, it's citrus season where it's warm :)

In season? It's the middle
In season? It's the middle of January here in the Pacific Northwest...nothing is in season here right now! That said, I'll see if our local grocery store has imported them from somewhere.
Hey Rick
They are imported usually from Jamaica. I am not sure if they are imported all year around, but I just noticed them recently at my local store in Illinois.
