THANKSGIVING WEEK: The Big Day
So today was the big day, a day of thankfulness, good times, great friends, and wonderful food! I woke up at 6:30 and popped the bird into the oven. Then I went back to bed. I was up till 1:30 last night goofing off, it was fun.

After waking up, I got the kiddos breakfast and started the mashed potatoes. This is my only picture and evidence that I even made homemade mashed potatoes.

This is how I sat the table this year. The boys sat at another table that was less elegant and more child friendly.

No Thanksgiving is complete without canned cranberry sauce! I accidentally bought some that was a mixture of raspberry-cranberry.

Little somewhat center piece.

Green bean casserole. YES, it has onions, but I did not eat it!

My bird finished around (or before) 10:30am. The meat was falling off the bone. In fact, it was a bit dry. Sigh, I wish I could have done a brine. We did not plan to start eating till 12pm, (and we really started at 12:30).

A close up of the fresh sage hiding under the skin, it just looked pretty, did not add anything to the flavor.

Something I saw on my walk after the kitchen got cleaned up. I had to run back and get my camera, there is not usually anything neat to capture with my camera in my neighborhood.
I was so thankful to sit down, I forgot to take pictures of us eating, of my guests, and of the spread. Oh well! :D
There will be less to capture tomorrow, but on Sat, my Dad and I will be going on some adventures! Looking forward to sharing them with all y'all!
